Scribe Video Center, located at 3908 Lancaster Avenue,  is excited to be sharing a Work-in-Progress Screening of “Harvey: Eyes on the Struggle,” accompanied by a Q and A session with filmmaker Ted Lieverman and Harvey Finkle himself. This screening is part of our Storyville program. Storyville is dedicated to showcasing contemporary films and media works produced by Philadelphia-based independent media artists. 

About the Film: 

Beloved Philadelphia photographer Harvey Finkle wants to continue his work with the disability rights movement and other social justice organizations.  But at age 85, his deteriorating eyesight forces him to put down his camera and change his perspective on the real value of his photographic legacy.

Come watch a rough cut of the film at the Scribe Video Community Center, together with a Q and A session with the filmmaker and with Harvey Finkle himself.  Refreshments provided.

About the Filmmaker: 

Ted Lieverman is an independent documentary photographer and writer based in Philadelphia, working on issues of work, social justice and post-conflict communities. This film is supported by a grant from Scribe Video Center’s Philadelphia Independent Media Fund. 

“I wanted people to see a photographer who has a passion for justice and a genuine affection for his subjects that shines through his work.” – Filmmaker Ted Lieverman.
