West Philadelphia Voices

A Facet of Every Voice, Every Vote

Funded by the Lenfest Institute for Journalism

West Philadelphia Voices is developing radio programs broadcast on WPEB that address important issues facing West Philadelphia and the City as a whole, and that will have an impact on voting during the 2023 city-wide election cycle. Some of the issues we are addressing are gentrification, policing, violence prevention, and education. With this project, Scribe is promoting the visions and perspectives of hyper-local media communicators in the on-going social discourse as part of accessible public journalism. This project is a part of Every Voice, Every Vote, a collaborative project managed by The Lenfest Institute for Journalism. Lead support is provided by the William Penn Foundation with additional funding from The Lenfest Institute, Peter and Judy Leone, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Harriet and Larry Weiss, and the Wyncote Foundation, among others. To learn more about the project and view a full list of supporters, visit www.everyvoice-everyvote.org. Editorial content is created independently of the project’s donors.
