Location: Sorellina, 699 North Broad Street

Date & Time: Saturday, July 26th, 6:00-9:00PM

Join us on Saturday, July 26th, from 6-9 pm for a reception celebrating Pepón Osorio’s Jacob (Video detail of the installation reForm), and muthi reed’s it be your own people, both public video installations mounted at the historic Divine Lorraine building for Scribe Video Center’s North Philadelphia History Festival. Meet the artists and join us for light bites and pay-as-you-go cocktails courtesy of Sorellina and music by DJ Mike Nyce. This event is free to attend, but advance registration is required.

Pepón Osorio presents Jacob (2 minutes 9 seconds; loop) a site-specific video detail of reForm (2015), an exhibition and community project that became a testimony of collective frustration experienced by many after the abrupt closing of Fairhill Elementary School.

muthi reed presents, it be your own people (21 minutes; loop), a cinematic assembly of reference materials contextualizing the love needed to thrive particular to people in a city called Philadelphia, and even more particular to Black North Philadelphians.
