This workshop series is designed to give you the skills to tell your own audio stories. Audio producer Alex Lewis will lead this course that will cover different styles and genres of audio storytelling, writing for radio, story structure, interviewing skills, and the basics of recording and editing audio. Participants will be introduced to a wide range of audio documentaries, radio stories, and audio art. The workshop will also include conversations about working in the audio storytelling industry - from public media to podcast companies. All participants will come away with valuable audio production skills, new ideas about storytelling, and knowledge about the radio & podcast industry. No prior experience necessary.


Alex Lewis is an independent radio & podcast producer living in Philadelphia, PA. He's the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Rowhome Productions, a Philadelphia-based audio production agency that specializes in making podcasts, radio documentaries, audio tours, and other narrative audio projects. Throughout his career, Lewis has worked on award-winning audio projects with a wide range of companies & organizations, including Topic Studios, the Philadelphia Inquirer, WHYY Studios, BlackStar Projects, Asian Arts Initiative, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, NPR, BBC Radio 4, & many more.
