AT CAPACITY: Observational Storytelling

How do you create a documentary by recording what unfolds naturally, without formal interviews? In this workshop, participants create a scene for their documentary project through carefully planned observation, recording images and sounds as they unfold. Over four weeks, participants explore approaches to cinéma vérité by viewing and analyzing observational documentaries. Participants record throughout the workshop session and bring newly recorded materials into the workshop to review and develop a scene editing strategy. The workshop's goal is to produce a usable scene for your documentary. 

Interested workshop participants must first submit a brief description of the film project they are working on.
