The Invitation, is not only an offering to those who would benefit from knowing more about autoimmune diseases, especially women who constitute 75% of the one in five Americans who have it. It is also an invitation to those who have the disease to take control of their lives and ultimately thrive. The film weaves interviews of four women interspersed with narratives and images of them in their disease stages, from diagnosis to treatment and moving into recovery.

Tamara R. Jackson is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director and producer. She has been writing since her youth. Tamara is known for transporting audiences into alternate realities and making complex subjects digestible with roots grounded in poetry and spoken word.
