Scribe Video Center Program:

The Precious Places Community History Project is a community oral history project inviting members of the Philadelphia region's many neighborhoods to document the buildings, public spaces, parks, landmarks and other sites that hold the memories of our communities and define where we live. Precious Places teaches the video production process to participating groups, fostering projects authored by those who intimately know the featured neighborhoods.

Film Summary:

Founded as North Light Boys’ Club in 1936 as a drop-in center to divert community youth from delinquency and petty crime, North Light Community Center (NL) has organically evolved in response to changing community needs. Today, NL is a place where children learn and play in a safe and nurturing environment, teens learn life and entrepreneurial skills to realize their full potential, and families and individuals in need receive critical assistance.
