Scribe Video Center is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment where everyone in our community can fully participate in and benefit from our programs, workshops, and events. We believe media creation and engagement empower voices, strengthen connections, and foster creative expression for people of all abilities. Our organization explores and advances the use of digital media as tools for community storytelling, artistic expression, and progressive social change, particularly for those who have been historically underserved or denied access to media resources.

Physical and Event Accessibility

When hosting in-person screenings, workshops, and community events, our goal is to ensure that all participants and attendees can fully engage regardless of ability. We work to:

  • Ensure an accessible venue for our programming that meets ADA compliance and offers barrier-free access

    • All public spaces are located on the first floor

    • A wheelchair accessible restroom is located near our screening/meeting room

    • Service animals are welcome at all events

  • Use accessible seating, clear signage, and assistive listening or captioning services when available

  • Provide reasonable accommodations upon request

We recognize that accessibility needs vary, and we are committed to working with individuals to make our events welcoming and inclusive.

Workshops and Learning Programs

We believe that workshops should be accessible to learners from all backgrounds and abilities. Our educational offerings—from introductory production workshops to advanced media special learning sessions—are being adapted to welcome diverse participants. We are committed to:

  • Providing course materials in accessible formats when possible

  • Encouraging community members to request accommodations to participate

If you require an alternative format, adaptive tools, or support to access our workshops, please contact us in advance, and we will work with you to make reasonable arrangements.

Digital Accessibility

We strive to ensure that our digital content, including our website, video catalog, and audio content,

  • Uses clear, readable language and navigation on our website

  • Provides captions for audio and video content whenever feasible

  • Follows recognized accessibility standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) where possible

  • Supports assistive technologies and other adaptive tools

We continue to review and improve our digital accessibility and welcome feedback to help us strengthen these efforts.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome your input on how we can improve accessibility in our work. If you encounter any barriers in accessing our content, facilities, workshops, or screenings—or if you need an accommodation.
