LAMB with Yared Zeleke (Ethiopia, France, Germany, Norway, 2015, 94 min)

Set in the rolling mountains of Ethiopia, Lamb tells the story of young Ephraim, who is sent by his father to live among distant relatives after his mother’s death. When his uncle decides that his beloved sheep must be sacrificed for the next religious feast, Ephraim will do anything to save his only friend and return home.

Yared Zeleke’s first feature-length film Lamb (2015) became the first Ethiopian film to be included in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival.
