They quickly fell in love despite Ronny being in the US and Suly in Guatemala. Set amidst the backdrop of the U.S. immigration system, this film asks the question: can love conquer all?

Since You Arrived, My Heart Stopped Belonging to Me follows the journey of a group of Central American mothers traveling through Mexico in search of their children who disappeared while migrating to the United States.
Chelsea Abbas is a filmmaker and Associate Professor of Anthropology at Widener University. Her work focuses on border studies, migration, immigrant rights, indigeneity and Latino representation in mainstream media. She is a Film Scholar with Scribe.
Erin Semine Kökdil is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, educator, and National Geographic explorer interested in building solidarity and inciting social change through film. Her work explores love and resistance, touching upon themes of migration, identity, and motherhood. She is an Assistant Professor of Creative Media Production at the University of Oklahoma.
