How to get your Film Distributed with Cornelius Moore
How to get your Film Distributed with Cornelius Moore
Are you a first-time filmmaker thinking of how to get your film distributed? Cornelius Moore, long time Co-Director of California Newsreel, will present information on navigating the distribution landscape and suggest what materials you will need for your film to be ready for distribution. Moore will discuss different distribution models so you can select the most appropriate one(s), as well as the best distributor and digital platforms for your film. After working so hard on getting your film done, you want to ensure that it is accessible to viewers and hopefully utilized within various revenue generating markets (educational and non-theatrical).
Since 1981, Cornelius Moore has been Co-Director of California Newsreel in San Francisco, the 55 year old film distribution and production company whose collections focus on health equity in the U.S., Black American history and culture and African cinema. In 2023, he is stepping down as California Newsreel’s Co-Director and will remain active with the organization as Board Chair, strategist and advisor. Cornelius is also a film curator, programming on a regular basis for San Francisco’s Museum of the African Diaspora, including its online bi-monthly program, the African Diaspora Film Club.
