Inter-generational Workshop - Green Screen Performance Video with Ursula Rucker

Calling all poets, spoken word artists, rappers, and musicians! Take this inter-generational workshop and leave with your very own performance video incorporating green screen special effects. Each student will work with poet and recording artist Ursula Rucker to create a new performance piece for the camera. Working as crew on each other’s project, students will learn the basics of setting up a green screen, lighting, shooting and the post-production process of working with green screen footage. INSTRUCTORS: Poet, activist and performance artist, Ursula Rucker has enchanted critics and fans across the globe with her diverse repertoire, captivating vocals, and accessible poetic verse for 19 years & counting. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Ursula has collaborated with an array of producers/artists, including King Britt, 4hero, Bahamadia, The Roots and Incognito. She has released five solo albums to date; and is preparing to release her fifth. Ursula has received both the Leeway Foundation Art and Change, and, Transformation Awards. She cites being the mother of four sons as her greatest gift.
Jay Mohan holds a B.A. in Film and Media Arts from Temple University. He has worked as an assistant teacher in videography at the Asian Arts Inititative. He wrote and edited Cleanliness is Next to Godliness, a short film which aired on Terminte TV. His wrote, directed and acted in The PW Show, which won the Best Film Award at the 2nd Annual Oscar Micheaux Film Festival.
