Come join us for a lively workshop about the art of the pitch and how best to close the deal on almost any negotiation. Negotiating a broadcast or digital rights deal, doing outreach to a stakeholder, to looking for promotional opportunities, all benefit from having a 1 minute pitch, 3 minute pitch and the companion written materials that will make your case. Clearly describe your film, goals and aspirations and why you are passionate about the subject matter. López will provide you with critical examples of how she negotiated partnerships for documentary films broadcast on POV. She will provide examples of some of the critical Public Awareness Campaigns coordinated by American Documentary.

Cynthia López is the former Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, where she was the steward of the Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting.  Previously, she served as executive vice president and co-executive producer of the award-winning POV (Point of View) documentary series, where she was responsible for all aspects of the organization’s development. She is the recipient of many industry awards including: 11 Emmy Awards.
