This workshop explores the range of expressive and creative approaches to non-fiction film. With screening examples drawn from classic and contemporary works, the goal is to recover some of the creative possibilities of documentary filmmaking. The workshop will be led by Billy Woodberry, a leading figure in the movement of Black independent filmmakers known as the L.A. Rebellion. A reading list will be made available prior to the workshop.
