SPRING 2012 Workshops Schedule

DATES: Mondays, May 28, June 4, 11, 25, July 2, 23; TIME: 7:00PM-9:00PM; SPRING 2012
Through this workshop, participants turn their non-fiction project ideas into workable shooting scripts. The course will cover research, developing and visualizing ideas, scripting and storytelling techniques. At the time of registration participants are strongly encouraged to submit a one-page description of their film idea for the instructor to review prior to the start of class. NSTRUCTOR: Louis Massiah is an independent documentary filmmaker whose films often explore political subjects and community histories. A MacArthur Foundation fellow, his works include W.E.B. Du Bois - A Biography in Four Voices and Louise Thompson Patterson: In Her Own Words, a biography of the activist and organizer. His video installation exploring the lives of enslaved Africans at the President’s House historical site in Philadelphia will re-open this spring. Massiah is the founder and executive director of Scribe Video Center.
