How do you master a mixer? How do you cope with difficult sound situations? What are the pros and cons of wireless microphones? In this special two-part workshop, sound recordist Jack Mehlbaum will look at important considerations for field recording, particularly with miniDV camcorder productions, including choosing the proper gear for your project. The workshop will also look at some of the newest technological innovations for digital video sound recordings.

Jack Mehlbaum has worked for the past 15 years as a location sound mixer on notable network TV programs (Unsolved Mysteries and CBS Nightly News), community documentaries, feature films and corporate videos. He enjoys translating his industry experience into practical audio recording techniques for independent media makers.
