Learn to Host Your Own Radio Show
In May, 2008 WPEB 88.1 FM, a new community radio station for West Philadelphia, began broadcasting. This hands on workshop is designed to train young people how to produce a live radio show and how through community radio they can think critically, experiment with digital technologies, and express themselves. Participants will learn how a radio studio works from running the board, planning your show, being a host and DJ, producing short news spots, interviewing guests in the studio, field and studio recording and some audio editing with Audacity. The workshop will culminate in a two-hour radio broadcast on WPEB with students performing every role.
This workshop is open to all young people ages 11 to 19. We offer a limited amount of scholarship support, based on need. Please call us at 215 222 4201 for more information.
