Introduction to 16mm Film Production

DATES: Wednesdays, July 23, 30, August 6, 13 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Saturday, August 2 from noon – 4:00 PM

Fee: $250. Fee includes 100 foot roll of 16mm film and processing.

Participants will learn basic 16mm (Bolex) camera operation techniques, operation of light meters, lighting for film, and editing on Scribe’s Steenbeck flatbed film editor. Each participant will access to the Bolex outside of class and have the opportunity to shoot their own100-ft roll of 16mm film. The Saturday session is intended for a location shoot.

INSTRUCTOR: Napoleon Juaniza received an MFA in Film at Ohio University and has taught at Antioch College, Pittsburgh Filmmakers and Edinboro University. He has worked as a freelance cameraperson, in addition to making short form personal documentaries in film and video. He fully embraces the digital revolution in media production, but continues to dream in 7222 Double-X.
