Blueprint for a Documentary

DATES: Mondays, August 1st, 8th,15th, 22nd and 29th &Thursday August 11;TIME: 7:00PM - 9:00PM; SUMMER 2011
Through this workshop, participants turn their non-fiction project ideas into workable shooting scripts. The course will cover research, developing and visualizing ideas, scripting and storytelling techniques. At the time of registration participants are strongly encouraged to submit a one-page description of their film idea for the instructor to review prior to the start of class. Please submit description to inquiry@scribe.org with your name and Blueprint for a Documentary in the subject line.
Introduction to Non-Linear Editing (Apple’s Final Cut Pro)
DATES: Tuesdays 19, 26, August 2, 9, 16, 23; TIME: 7:00PM-9:00PM; SUMMER 2011
Learn basic editing with Apple's Final Cut Pro, an exciting and powerful non-linear editing program that combines professional capability with consumer-level accessibility. This course builds a strong foundation that gets you started with logging, capturing, editing, transitions and much more. Basic computer knowledge is required. In addition to the workshop meetings, individual edit time is required.
Orientation to Scribe II

An overview of all the resources of Scribe Video Center. This orientation session will direct you to the resources, workshops and programs that can get your project off the ground. Scribe staff will be on hand to answer your questions and to give details about all our program offerings. If you are new to Scribe, please plan to attend one of these introductory sessions.

Registration fee includes a one-on-one project consultation with Emmy Award winning independent producer/director and editor Sharon Mullally

This course builds a strong foundation that gets you started with logging, capturing, editing, transitions and much more. Apple computer knowledge is highly recommended. Participants will be expected to edit assignments outside of class either at their own Final Cut Pro workstation or at Scribe.
