An Information Session about Scribe's New Media Initiative -- eSights, eSounds

eSights, eSounds provides an opportunity for individual artists and community groups to create new media works that comment on social, political and cultural issues affecting the Philadelphia region. eSights, eSounds participants will be use new technologies -- cell phones, interactive websites, video games, podcasts, blogs and wikis - as creative tools to tell their story.

Scribe is now accepting proposals with final proposals are due Monday, May 19, 2008. Up to four projects will be selected for funding and be guided by new media artists Shu Lea Cheang , Michelle Halsell , and Mendi + Keith Obadike . Project Coordinators are Michael Kuetemeyer and Anula Shetty of Termite TV Collective.

eSights, eSounds is made possible by a grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation.

Want to know more? Attend this presentation to hear more about the appliation process and hear from five local artists will be showing and discussing their New Media work. Rana Sindhikara (multimedia artist) will present and talk about a community web project she did with Cosa Cosa. John Phillips and Carolyn Healy (installation art) will talk about their process in creating large site specific installations. Matthew Fisher (interactive installations) will talk about touch screen installations and other interactive technologies. Laura Deutch (multimedia artist) - exploring personal and community connections through web projects. Mike Kutemeyer (multimedia artist) of Termite TV will discuss one of the installations he has made for Termite TV.
